All About Blockchain 2022: Digital Conference for Publishers and Media Businesses

Frankfurt am Main, February 16, 2022 Following on from the success of the first “All About Blockchain” digital conference in September 2021, Bookwire is also dedicating this year’s event on 29 March 2022 to the topic of NFTs and blockchain publishing, on a global scale. International experts and the people who make blockchain projects happen talk about the beginning of a new internet era and blockchain technology’s potential for the global publishing and media industry. The event, which is organised in partnership with industry magazine Digital Publishing Report, aims to explain the opportunities that the technology offers publishers and creatives and to highlight specific potential uses in the publishing industry. Participation in the event is free of charge. Due to high demand, the language of the conference this year will be English for the first time.

Non-fungible tokens in publishing

Against the background of the growing opportunities that the use of NFTs offers the publishing industry, Bookwire has put together a programme that specifically focuses on the industry-specific challenges surrounding smart contracts, licence rights and marketing strategies in the publishing industry. “How does digital ownership of media content work? What makes NFTs exciting and what opportunities are there for publishers? What are digital originals?” will be some of the key questions at All About Blockchain 2022. As a keynote speaker, digital expert Dr. Teo Pham will start by giving a talk covering basic knowledge about NFTs, cryptocurrencies and decentralised blockchain applications. Along with English author Joanna Penn, who will specifically examine the benefits and opportunities of blockchain and NFTs for creatives, other speakers include Daud Zulfacar and Frank Bartels from Berlin NFT enabler License.rocks. Other international speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

John Ruhrmann, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Bookwire explains: “Blockchain technology and NFTs in particular open up a whole world of new possibilities for the book and creative industries. And to be able to develop strategies, it’s important to understand this technology. That’s what we want to inspire people to do with All About Blockchain 2022.”

A Q&A slot after every talk will give participants the opportunity to talk directly to the speakers and to have any questions answered and discussed straight away.

In the past year, Bookwire itself has launched an NFT platform designed for publishers, creatives and authors with Creatokia.

All About – one industry, enormous potential

All About Blockchain 2022 will be the 5th digital conference in the successful “All About” series of events that are held every six months.
