The second edition of the industry's only award exclusively dedicated to Spanish-language audiobooks has attracted 223 submissions from 47 publishers and platforms worldwide. Winners will be announced on September 30th at Liber, Barcelona's premier international book fair.
Barcelona, July 3rd 2026 – Bookwire has announced nearly 250 entries for the second edition of the Premio Audiolibro Bookwire, cementing its position as the industry's only award exclusively dedicated to Spanish-language audiobooks. The awards recognize innovation and excellence across the rapidly growing Spanish audio publishing sector.
This second edition has brought together nearly 250 audiobook entries, submitted by about 50 publishers and platforms from Spain, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and the United States, among others. The awards ceremony will take place on September 30th in Barcelona, as part of Liber 2026.
A Second Edition That Doubles the Number of Awards
Bookwire has also announced that this year the number of awards will be doubled, in recognition of a diverse sector marked by the richness of Spanish-language accents and the cultural diversity of participating publishers. All categories are designed to celebrate artistic quality, vocal talent, sound design, and the sector's capacity for adaptation:
- Best Spanish-Language Audiobook of the Year: first, second and third prize
- Special Mention for Best Sound Design in Spanish.
- Special Mention for Best Sound Adaptation of a Classic Work in the Public Domain.
- Fabely Mention for Best Spanish-Language Audiobook of the Year (the title most voted by listeners on the platform): first, second and third prize.
- Special Mention for Best Narration of the Year: Peninsular Spanish accent and Latin American accent.
Jury Composition and Award Ceremony
The jury is composed of Paulina Flores, writer; Eduard Olesti, writer; Céline Rodríguez, writer and journalist; Javier Celaya, founder of Dosdoce and expert in the digital publishing industry; Fernando Benzo, Secretary General of the Federation of Spanish Publishers' Guilds; and Giulia Lo Monaco, Head of Audio at Bookwire EMEA, who will serve as jury secretary.
Liber will host the award ceremony on September 30th in Barcelona, closing the Liber Audio sessions organised by Bookwire, in which leading figures from the industry will share their experiences and reflections on the present and future of the audiobook.
Additionally, the public will be able to vote from 1st to 31st July for their favourite audiobook on Fabely.es, the only digital platform exclusively dedicated to this format.
