Bookwire and Faber and Faber reach a global agreement for digital distribution of their eBook and audiobook catalogues

Frankfurt am Main, November 8, 2022 – Bookwire GmbH, the German digital publishing services company, and Faber and Faber Ltd, one of the UK’s leading independent publishers, have signed a technical partnership to strengthen the global distribution of Faber and Faber’s growing digital publishing.

The co-operation includes distribution of a substantial and growing eBook and audio book catalogue, not only from Faber and Faber itself but also its fully owned subsidiary Faber Factory, which offers distribution services to approximately 100 independent publishers in the UK.

From early 2023, Bookwire will fully take over Faber and Faber, and Faber Factory’s global distribution via its end-to-end platform Bookwire OS, ensuring worldwide availability of one of the most highly regarded English language catalogues, including no less than thirteen Nobel Laureates.

Bookwire’s best of breed technology across and deep operational experience will help Faber and Faber to continue to reach the widest digital audiences while maintaining the highest technical standards and allowing for further digital growth.

Jude Gates, Publishing Operations Director at Faber and Faber is looking forward to the partnership: “Bookwire’s strong track record in the industry and long-term commitment to digital innovation around distribution made them an obvious partner as we look to grow our digital business over the coming years. We very much look forward to a successful partnership.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Faber and Faber and the Faber Factory team,” adds Videl Bar-Kar, General Manager UK and Global Head of Audio for Bookwire “who right from the start shared our ambition to offer the highest possible distribution service across a huge number of global sales channels. The potential for audio is of course, also incredibly exciting.”

Bookwire CEO Jens Klingelhöfer added: “We have long admired the UK publishing sector for its great entrepreneurial energy, and we firmly believe this new partnership with Faber and Faber including Faber Factory will help a wide range of independent publishers to benefit from truly global and ever-expanding digital distribution across a huge number of sales channels. No one should be left out of the latest digital consumption trends.”
